About Me
I started out as a childminder, learning early years from the ground up. From there I moved through a range of advisory and quality-improvement roles - working with Trafford Local Authority's education department and youth service, and as an advisor with Manchester Early Years. I supported quality across a very large nursery franchise, where my team grew from 25 to 60 nurseries.
I then spent 17 years with Ofsted as an early years inspector, working across inspection and registration in every kind of setting - day care, pre-schools, childminders, children's centres, out-of-school clubs and holiday clubs. I keep up to date with all current changes to legislation, including the new inspection framework.
I have excellent feedback from my work, indicating my friendly and professional approach with teams. Many settings I have worked with have achieved Outstanding, and those facing urgent improvement judgements or suspensions have raised their standards. Now I'm supporting settings to strive for Strong Standard under the new inspection framework.
I have delivered a large variety of training sessions and high-quality visits, with ongoing monthly support for lots of settings. I have shared my experience working with children with SEN both from a family, personal and professional experience, and I support with the EHCP. I am familiar with all the new nursery funding across settings.

Every child deserves a brilliant key person.
The quality of the adult-child relationship is the single biggest predictor of outcomes in the early years. Everything I do starts from there.
Good practice should be visible, not hidden.
If your team is doing incredible work but your documentation doesn't show it, that's a problem I can fix. Inspectors can only judge what they can see.
Development is a partnership, not an audit.
I work alongside teams, not above them. Sustainable improvement comes from building confidence, not creating dependency.
I offer a free 30-minute discovery call where we can discuss your setting's needs and how I might help.
